Leona Balsdon

MSW RSW

Hi, I’m Leona!

I’m a registered social worker with a deep passion for supporting children, youth, and their families. My experience spans nonprofit organizations, mental health services for all ages, youth residential programs, and child welfare. I believe in the power of compassion, empathy, and strong relationships to enhance well-being. By focusing on individual strengths, community support, and skill-building, I strive to help children and families navigate life’s challenges with confidence.

I hold an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Child and Youth Studies from Brock University, a Child and Youth Care diploma from Fanshawe College, and a Master of Social Work (MSW) from King’s University College at Western University. My specialized training includes EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) from an EMDRIA-approved program, as well as coursework in play therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).

Outside of work, I love spending quality time with friends and family, reading, hiking, skiing, swimming, and biking. I look forward to supporting you and your family on your journey toward healing and growth.
