Hi, I'm Julia, I’m a registered social worker and a mom to a teenager and toddler! Life can get hectic and emotion regulation and coping skills are not something we all learn. I believe in the importance of working collaboratively with families to best support the needs of their children and teens. I enjoy providing support with the development of emotion regulation techniques, distress tolerance skills, and communication strategies and feel this is an invaluable skillset that can build a strong foundation for future growth. I am a firm believer that our bodies and minds have the resource to provide healing and, in our work, together we will tap into that inner resource to develop resiliency and growth for your children, teens, and family members after a challenging or traumatic incident.

Julia earned a Master and Bachelor Degree in Social Work at King’s University College at the School of Social Work. She obtained her Cognitive  Behavioral Therapy (CBT) certifications from Laurier University with a specialization in working with children and adolescents as well as a Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) specialization in working with families in crisis. Julia is also a Certified Trauma Specialist and is certified in hypnotherapy. She is certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and sensorimotor psychotherapy.

Julia is passionate about providing the best care for her clients and has experience in various clinical settings involving supporting clients with traumatic events including serious injury, ABI, spinal cord injury, life limiting diagnosis, as well as acute and chronic illness. Julia is experienced at partnering with clients to foster resiliency as they face the challenges of grief and loss. Through the utilization of various treatment modalities she is able to assist clients in coping with the various difficulties that arise from the adjustment process.
