George Johnson

RSW, MSW

Hey there, I’m George! I’m a psychotherapist with a deep passion for helping people build resilience, confidence, and strength, whether in their mental health journey, recovery after an accident, or simply navigating life’s ups and downs.

Before stepping into the world of therapy, I had the privilege of playing professional football in the CFL for the Montreal Alouettes. That experience shaped me in ways I never expected. It taught me discipline, perseverance, and the power of a strong mindset. I know firsthand what it means to push through setbacks, overcome challenges, and redefine success. Now, I bring those lessons into my work as a therapist, helping clients tap into their own resilience, whether they’re recovering from a motor vehicle accident, coping with trauma, managing anxiety and depression, or discovering their strengths and gifts.

For years, I have worked with individuals adjusting to life after an injury, helping them regain independence, build confidence, and find joy in the small victories. But beyond therapy, I am always looking for new experiences, whether it’s trying a new sport, exploring creative outlets, or mentoring young people. I co-founded Black Youth Connect because I believe in the power of community and the impact of having a safe space where you can be seen, heard, and supported.

At the core of everything I do, I want my clients to feel empowered. Therapy with me isn’t about rigid techniques or checking boxes. It is about working together to create a path forward that feels real, attainable, and meaningful. Whether we are tackling life after an injury, navigating stress and anxiety, or rebuilding confidence, I am here to support and challenge you in a way that feels natural, warm, and motivating.

If you are looking for a therapist who understands the highs and lows of performance, the journey of recovery, and the importance of finding purpose in the struggle, let’s connect. I’d love to learn more about you and grow together.
